1970s Omega Levin M.R.C stop watch set

An exceptionally rare and complete set of six vintage Omega professional mechanical stopwatches, individually numbered and engraved “LEVIN M.R.C.” for the Levin Motor Racing Circuit in New Zealand.

The six stopwatches have remarkably remained together and are presented in their original fitted timing box. All six are currently working, and importantly, each stopwatch retains its lanyard and holder, making this an incredibly complete surviving set.

Levin Motor Racing Circuit was New Zealand’s first permanent purpose-built motor racing circuit and hosted some of the greatest drivers of the period, including Bruce McLaren, Jack Brabham, Stirling Moss, Jim Clark, Graham Hill, Jackie Stewart, Denny Hulme and Chris Amon.

Before electronic timing became standard, mechanical stopwatches such as these were essential equipment for race officials, used for manually recording laps, intervals and race timing.
