Excelsior Park Chronograph Cal. 40-68
Size: 40mm
Year: 1970s
Movement: Manual
SOLD
A rare and very attractive Excelsior Park chronograph from the 1970s, powered by the excellent in-house calibre 40-68.
Excelsior Park were one of the great chronograph specialists of the mid-century period, supplying movements to a number of top-tier brands, with their own signed pieces becoming increasingly hard to find, especially in sportier configurations like this.
This example features a strong, oversized stainless steel case with rotating diver-style bezel, paired with a classic panda-style dial. The dial shows honest ageing throughout, with patina across the lume plots and hands, giving it that proper vintage character without being overdone. The 6 o’clock sub dial hand had been stripped of the flaking paint in its last service to ensure no loose paint is present on the dial.
The watch is powered by the manual wind Excelsior Park calibre 40-68, a robust column wheel chronograph movement known for its smooth operation and quality construction. The movement was serviced mid 2025.
