Offered for sale is a beautiful 1977 Rolex Submariner Date Ref. 1680, one of the last generations of acrylic crystal Submariners before the transition to the sapphire era.

 

This example has outstanding vintage character. The original matte dial features beautifully aged tritium lume that has developed a rich creamy patina, perfectly matched to the hands. The faded bezel insert has taken on an attractive blue-grey tone, giving the watch the classic vintage appearance collectors love.

 

The stainless steel 40mm case remains strong with excellent proportions and is fitted to its correct Rolex Oyster bracelet. Included is the original Rolex presentation box.

 

Powered by the reliable Rolex Calibre 1575 automatic movement, the watch is running well and keeping good time.
